The Commune No. 4 Aranjuez is one of the 16 districts of the city of Medellin, capital of Antioquia Department. It is located in the northeastern part of the city, bounded on the north by the districts No. 1 and 2 People and Santa Cruz, on the east by the municipality Manrique No. 3, on the west by the river and the Medellín commune south # 10 La Candelaria. Contains a total of 135.167 inhabitants and covers an area of 487.72 hectares which corresponds to 30.9% in the north east





History

His initial conformation dating from the mid 40's and 

beginning the development process by the system of  
urban pirate turned into a development of settlements, 
which dates back to the decade of the 50, hence 
the low ratio of urban structure
  with the topography and lack of public spaces.

According to figures presented by the Medellín Statistical Yearbook 2005, [2] the population living in the Commune Aranjuez No. 4 is of 135.167 inhabitants of which 72.944 are women and 62.223 men.

As shown in the table, the majority of the population is below 39 years with a 73.9%, of which the highest percentage is given by the young adult age range between 15 and 39, with a 42.9 % of total population. Only 4.9% represents the population over 65 is that the population of the elderly.
